THE PERCY JACKSON MOVIE IS NOTHING COMPARED TO THE BOOK

I recently saw both the Percy Jackson movies with VERY high expectations and I can say with full assurance that the directors failed me. Let’s start with everything wrong with the movie- Lightning thief.

ANNABETH AND HER HAIR-

NO SERIOUSLY LIKE REALLY. Annabeth is known for her blonde hair and they kept her hair brown in this. HOW COULD THEY RUIN THE MAIN CHARACTERS MOST IMPORTANT PART???????????

Clarrise? Who’s that?

That’s right. Clarrise La Rue didn’t exist in the movie. SHE WASN’T MENTIONED OR INTRODUCED OR ANYTHING WHILE SHE WAS ONE OF THE MAIN ANTAGONIST BULLY OF THE MOVIE, THE DIRECTORS CUT HER OUT

Mr D didn’t exist

A very important yet annoying character, Mr D had no role in the movie. HOW COULD THEY DO THAT? JUST HOW?

ARES HAD NO ROLE–

Yes, the main god of the movie had no role. THEY LITERALLY CUT 3 VERY IMPORTANT CHAPTERS OF THE BOOK

But that my dear readers Are nothing compared to what I’m about to say about movie 2

Yes, they made Annabeth blonde, they made Clarrise and Mr D exist but that’s about it.

In movie 2 there was-

NO CIRCE–

2 IMPORTANT CHAPTERS ARE NOT MENTIONED AT ALL

BUT MY MAIN COMPLAINT IS-

THEY FIRST SHORTENED THE SEA OF MONSTERS. THEY EVEN MADE KRONOS RISE IN THE END, ALSO ON THE ISLAND ITSELF WHERE CIRCE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AND THERE WAS NO BATTLE OF MANHATTAN JUST PERCY PUTTING RIPTIDE IN KRONOS’ FEET (END OF STORY THAT’S IT, HE DIES). THEN THEY EVEN KILL ANNABETH (AND GET HER BACK IN THE END) AND MADE LUKE DIE BY HAVING HIM EATEN BY KRONOS ON THE ISLAND ITSELF. THE MAIN BATTLE WAS OF 10 MINUTES. THEY FORGOT THAT ANY OTHER BOOK EXISTS AND JUST CUT TO THE LAST OLYMPIANS, THE PART WHEN KRONOS COMES BACK FINALLY.

BUT THIS MOVIE WAS NOTHING

Emotions and moments of a reader

Each reader out there has a different style of reading. Some may like audio while some may like a hard copy. We all like different genres and different authors but the emotions we share are the same. I am sharing a few below, hope you can relate- (THIS HAS SPOILERS OF PERCY JACKSON)

The happiness of getting a new book-😊

We all have that moment when we finally get the book we have hoped for getting for a very long time. The excitement is unbearable and it is one of the happiest moments in life

The excitement when a secret is revealed-😁

The jumpy moment in life when the character finally reveals the greatest climax or secret which leaves us in awe.

The sad moments-😥

The moment when your favourite character (R.I.P Bianca De Angelo, Zoe Nightshade and Selina, Bob the Titan) passes away and you are left in tears for the whole day wondering what did they do wrong

The disappointment- 😟

There are 2 disappointments in a reader-

1)- When a wonderful book ends in a very bad way

2) – When you leave the book and see that you weren’t a part of the adventure you just read

The teary-eyed happy moment -😉

When what you have been waiting for a very long time finally happens (eg-Percabeth) and you finally start seeing the whole world in a new perspective

The moment which takes time to process-😰

The dramatic climax or part when a character reveals something shocking and you just stand there like 😱😱😱😱😱🤯🤯🤯🤯 (When Rose Quartz was pink diamond or when Selina was a spy)
