The Percy Jackson Q & A by Snigdha

Kaashvi told me that I could do these questions, so why not! Let’s get into it.

Q: What will your dream cabin be?

A: Athena! Books everywhere! A lot of smart people! Grey eyes! Yes, I love grey eyes.

Q: What will your weapon be?

A: Nico’s Stygian iron sword. I’ve always liked it, for some reason. Or Annabeth’s knife.

Q: If you had the chance to choose your mythological parents, who would they be?

A: Athena and Hermes.

Q: What will your dream team/friend group be?

A: 1. Annabeth

2. Nico

3. Leo

4. Percy

5. Grover

Q: Which person are you jealous of for their powers?

A: My answer is same as Kaashvi, Nico di Angelo. Or Percy, on a second thought.

Q: Who do you want to have a good alliance with? (Gods only)

A: Athena, Artemis, Hermes, Hephaestus and Zeus (not because I like him, but because he’s the king of the gods)

Well, that’s all!

What I feel about Percy Jackson compared to other books

Hello wonderful people!

Yes, I have started writing on books.

I am A VERY BIG FAN OF PERCY JACKSON. I recently started reading its first book and now my obsession has brought me to finishing the third (Titan’s Curse) and starting the next one.

Until now I saw a lot of things unique and different about Percy Jackson compared to other books and I would love to share it with you-

1- Informal tone

This first person narrative in this book is AMAZING! and the author has used an informal tone with the readers, which makes the book very comical/humorous. A lot of books don’t have this. Most books have a third person narrative with a deep explanation and a very formal writing sense.

2- The chapter names

“A GOD BUYS US CHEESEBURGERS”

I mean the chapters name are so funny and witty, I respect the author for this. This is something you will find in NO OTHER BOOK, mark my words.

3- The learning x fun

No book could have taught me more Greek Mythology than this. I was never interested in these things until I read this book. I’ve read so much and got to learn so much while also laughing and crying and understanding the drama. No book gives you that experience.

4- Each chapter ending had a climax

At the end of each chapter was an open mystery or climax which needed to figured out! This was really amazing about the book.

Other than these main points the fights were detailed, the climaxes were to die for and the final mystery when solved….WOW!

A must read for those who haven’t.

These are my point of views, what do you have to say?

That’s all!

Haikus yet again

Writing haikus can be stressful, but the end results are generally awesome (oh look, two syllables. Awe-some). *cue you all crying because sNIGDHA HAS GOTTEN INTO A HAIKU PHASE*

Music calms you down
But, but it can hurt you too
Forever keeps changing

A fresh start is good
Always reinvigorates
You feel positive

(I had to write this one for school.)

They are difficult
But Apollo’s haikus suck
Oh damn, I got cursed

(If anyone didn’t get it, Apollo is the Greek god of poetry, and hence, haikus. In Percy Jackson series, he recites godawful (pun intended) haikus like HUGE SPOILER ALERT FOR THE TITAN’S CURSE YOU WILL REGRET READING THIS DON’T READ THIS IF YOU HAVEN’T READ IT AND PLAN TO DO SO. ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️Ok. Everyone gone? Great. “Green grass breaks through snow./Artemis waits for my help./I am so awesome.” Terrible, right? RIGHT?)

Okay then! Bye!

My favourite Percy Jackson quotes

Okay, I’ve truly got the Percy Jackson bug. THE SERIES IS AMAZING, CAN YOU BLAME ME? Here’s to hoping most of them are there in the TV adaptation!

With great power… comes great need to take a nap. Wake me up later. -Nico di Angelo, Percy Jackson and The Last Olympian

I cannot agree more.

Deadlines aren’t real to me until I’m staring one in the face. -Percy Jackson, Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief

*my procrastinating self shuffles guiltily*

“You hit the lord of the Titans in the eye with a blue plastic hairbrush.” -Percy Jackson, Percy Jackson and the Battle of the Labyrinth

Rachel is many things, and among them shines the word fearless.

Percy: “Why can’t you place a blessing like that on us?”
Grover: “It only works on wild animals.”
Annabeth: “So it would only affect Percy,”
Percy: “Hey!”Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief

Ok, so, I read the books from my mother’s school library, and I still have this one saved in my album. I loved it that much. Look:

Bye!

I hate what they did to Ron and Grover in the movies

Ron and Grover were super cool characters.

Without Ron, Harry would have starved more than he already in his Aunt and Uncle’s home and would have little happiness in his life. May I also remind you all that in the Prisoner of Azkaban book, Ron had a broken leg but still stood up and said ‘If you’re going to kill Harry, you’ll have to kill us first!’, but in the movies they made Hermione say it. They also made Ron a comic-relief character who was only interested in food and nothing else. Yes, Ron was a huge foodie in the books, but the movies did show his brave moments — breaking Harry out of his room in The Chamber of Secrets, destroying Slytherin’s locket in The Deathly Hallows, and sacrificing himself in the game of wizarding chess in The Philosopher’s Stone, to name a few. Howecer, they didn’t show his immense dedication to Quidditch and his becoming Prefect, for example.

But my complaints about Ron’s character are nothing when compared to what the screenwriters did to Grover Underwood’s character. I have not watched the movie, just some scenes and a MovieFlame video which called it a ‘disrespect’ to the book.

In the Lightning Thief book, it was evident that Grover loved nature. However, the movie did not show anything like that, which is plain stupid, because it makes a large part of his personality. They made him all confident and suave and (I hate to use this phrase, but there’s nothing else in my vocabulary) a ladies’ man. And that absolutely cringe dance scene at Lotus Casino? Ugh! Grover was nothing like that in the books. He had huge self-esteem issues with himself for failing Thalia, Luke, Annabeth and Percy to camp safely.

Thanks for hearing me rant,

Snigdha

Interview with a fictional character

Interview with a fictional character (part 5)

I’m interviewing Grover Underwood this time! He’s an extremely brave satyr (also happens to be the best friend of Percy Jackson). I’m glad to interview him (it’s also very relaxing after Lord Voldemort). I’m taking the interview after the events of Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian. So beware of spoilers!

We’re glad to have you here, Mr. Underwood!
GU: *starts chewing a bit of the expensive sofa set I’d just bought* Call me Grover, please.
Me: *is obviously flustered and startled*

Q: A-a small introduction of yourself, please, Grover.
A: My name is Grover Underwood. I’m a Member of the Council of the Cloven Elders. I have a girlfriend named Juniper. My best friends are Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase.

Q: What was the most terrifying moment of your life?
A: Nearly getting dragged into Tartarus, maybe? I don’t know, I have a lot to choose from.

Q: How would you describe yourself?
A: I’m a lover of nature, enchiladas and coffee. I’m terrified of Cyclopes. I hate bunnies, the bullying things steal celery from defenseless satyrs.

Q: What are your thoughts on Percy Jackson?
A: He’s pretty awesome, though stupidly reckless and has gotten himself or me or Annabeth nearly killed much more than I like.

Q: How did you feel when you went around the US, trying to persuade nature spirits to protect their bit of nature?
A: It was very difficult, obviously, and I missed my friends a lot. But I knew I was doing something good, which kept me going on.

It was lovely knowing more about yourself, Mr. Un- Grover!

See y’all!
